Mods & CC organizer for The Sims 4
Is your Mods folder a mess? Mine was too, so I made ModNest. No more scrolling through 5,000 loose .package files!

Sorts all your CC automatically: hair, makeup, clothes, shoes, pets, Build/Buy, gameplay mods and more. It reads what's inside each file, not just the name.
Grabs new downloads: from your Downloads folder, and unpacks .zip, .rar and .7z files for you.
Preview first: see where everything will go before anything moves.
Undo last run: puts everything back exactly how it was.
Moves broken files out safely: broken, duplicate and game-breaking files go to Quarantine. Newer mod versions get swapped in, and the old one is kept aside.
Find Bad Mod: game says "Unable to start"? It finds the file causing it in a few launches.
My Mods:NEW every mod and CC file with its picture. Search, filter by CAS, Build/Buy or Script, and turn mods off and on.
Mod Sets:NEW save which mods are off as a set, like "Legacy save" or "Build only", and switch in one click.
Check my saves:NEW see which CC your saves and saved Sims actually use, and which you never do.

Game won't start?
If The Sims 4 shows "Unable to start" after you added new CC, open Find Bad Mod and pick the last day your game started fine.
ModNest moves everything you added after that out of your Mods folder for a bit, then halves the suspects every time you launch the game. In a few launches it finds the one file causing it, moves it out, and puts everything else back.
No more pulling mods out one by one at 2am.
How to install
Download ModNest-1.1.zip from the Patreon post, right-click it and choose Extract All.
Close The Sims 4.
Open ModNest.exe. It finds your Mods folder automatically.
Press Preview to see what will change, then Organize now.
"Windows protected your PC"? That's normal for new apps from small creators. Click More info, then Run anyway.
In the game, make sure Enable Custom Content and Mods and Script Mods Allowed are both on (Game Options → Other). The Health check in Tools checks this for you!
Questions
Will it delete my mods?
Never. Broken and duplicate files go to a Quarantine folder, old versions of updated mods are kept in Quarantine\Replaced Versions, and Undo last run puts everything back.
Does it work on Mac?
Not yet. ModNest works on Windows 10 and 11 only. A Mac version is coming soon.
I already have 1.0. Do I pay again?
Nope! Download the new zip from the same Patreon post. Every update is included in the $7.99 tier.
I used a different mod manager before.
That's fine. Mods it turned off (.packageOFF files) show up in My Mods as "off". Just click Turn on.
I'm new to mods. Can I still use it?
Yes! The first time you click Organize now, ModNest sets up all your folders for you.
